Why a marae, and what manaakitanga means
A marae is a place of belonging, a place for our people. After living all over the world, Australia, Japan, Canada, and finding my way back home to Aotearoa, I knew I wanted to build something grounded in my beautiful culture. Not another clinical, cold online programme. A safe, homely place of belonging, learning and connection. A space that feels like coming home.
Manaakitanga is the heart of everything we do here. It's about showing aroha, respect, generosity and care for others, and it comes from two words. Mana: prestige, authority, power, and spiritual status. Aki: to encourage, or urge on.

My story: I've done every job you're trying to do
My whole life has pointed at one thing: helping people do what they love, and actually make money doing it. It started with wanting to care for people as a nurse, then as a personal trainer and boxing coach.
Then I learned to build, all of it. Nine years running KIK Clothing across New Zealand and Australia from the ground up: finding products and getting them made, the websites, the email lists, the content, the photography, the ads, the psychology behind why people buy. Every single piece, myself, with two kids and a farm in the mix. I learned what works, and what just burns you out.
